Welcome to the College of Health Sciences. We are a progressive, caring, ethical and socially responsive College underpinned by the principles of universal healthcare and excellent scholarship.
Our college consists of four Schools namely:
We are a caring college, that advocates for social justice and excellence.
Professor Ncoza Dlova, Dean and Head of UKZN’s School of Clinical Medicine, has launched a fund to support medical students with historic debt. The fund will ensure that education is a reality for those who are struggling financially. Further, investing in future medical doctors will inject much needed human resources in an already overburdened healthcare system.
Dlova said, We are appealing to donors, non-governmental organisations, the corporate sector, alumni of UKZN’s Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine as well as alumni of the former Alan Taylor residence to assist with donations.’
Alumnus and founder of the Gift of the Givers, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman pledged R3 million towards the fund.
All donor contributions will be received by the UKZN foundation which will qualify donors to receive a section 18 A certificate which is a tax benefit for their pledge.
‘Support Doctors in the Making (uMuntu nguMuntu ngaBantu).’ ‘Fund the future – Fund a Student and Be part of the Solution.’
